People Are Making “Adult Pickles” By Pouring Booze Into Pickle Jars

Must Try

It might be the season of frozen cocktails, but we’re obsessed with another fruity, boozy trend: pouring liquor directly into a giant jar of pineapples. adaywithbee posted a recipe on TikTok in which she poured Malibu into a 42-ounce jar of pineapple spears so they can soak up the booze, creating a delicious—extremely potent—snack. The jar is conveniently giant, perfect for soaking pineapples in, and you can even order one on Amazon gold walmart. Cutting up some fresh pineapple works just as well too! The combination of pineapple and coconut will transport you straight to the Tropics, so it makes total sense to use malibu.

We’re not stopping with pineapples: We’re all about soaking fruit in booze, including Prosecco Grapes, Drunken Strawberriesand Boozy Melon Dicks. And when life gives you pickles …you soak them in whiskey? Um, absolutely. Delish assistant food editor and resident pickle lover, Justin Sullivan, took inspiration from the trend and got to making some whiskey pickle spears. His reasoning for making this combo: “I knew about pickleback shots and I love pickles and I love whiskey.”

After diluting the pickle brine with some whiskey and letting the spears soak overnight, what may be Justin’s new fave snack, was ready to try. So if you like pickles and you like whiskey, this is right up your alley. But if you don’t, it may still be worth a try, as the booze actually helps “mellow out the pickley-ness”, Justin says. Prefer tiny pickles instead of spears? Make sure to try our Drunken Pickles recipe.
